Safety
Safety is an essential element of good business, and regardless of its motive, humanitarian or economic, the cost is much more easily sustained than the price paid for the lack of it.
Danella Companies, Inc. complies with all local, state, and federal safety regulations in the performance of our work. Additionally, it is our mission to constantly strive, not just for compliance, but for the elimination of all workplace incidents, including but not limited to: injuries and illnesses to employees or the public, damage to property or the environment, disruptions caused by utility damages, and injuries or damages caused by vehicle accidents. Our strategy to eliminate these incidents begins with our safety program. It is more than just a manual or binder, it is a way of life.
Danella Pride - We provide the best equipment, materials, training, and supervision. We expect our employees to take pride in being part of Danella by conducting themselves in a professional manner, from personal appearance to the appearance of the job sites to the appearance of our vehicles and equipment. We expect our employees to take pride in the safe manner in which we perform our work.
Zero Incident Philosophy (ZIP) – This is a mindset or way of doing business, not just a goal. We expect our employees to believe that incidents (and their resulting injuries or damages) are NOT an acceptable part of doing business. ALL ACCIDENTS ARE PREVENTABLE.
Safety Education - We require a full-day safety orientation for all new employees, but it does not stop there. It is a continuous process, including ongoing training covering a variety of topics over the course of the employee's career.
Job Hazard Analysis (JHA) - Safe projects begin with effective planning, communication, and execution. We expect all employees to be part of the JHA program. The JHA is our daily on-site tool to ensure that all hazards have been anticipated, discussed, and will be controlled. JHA's are required daily on all projects before work begins, and as conditions change, with no exceptions.
Safety, Productivity, and Quality are not placed in priority order. They are equally important cornerstones which support our safety program and our organization. A safe workforce is foremost in our minds. The true measure of success is each and every one of our employees going home everyday to families and loved ones, in the same condition he or she came to work.
Safety Hotline
We have established a toll-free Safety Hotline for our employees and the public to use to report unsafe conditions at our job sites or work locations. The call will be answered by an automated voicemail system. The caller does not have to give their name or phone number; it can be anonymous. However, if the caller does give their name and phone number, we will contact them to verify the concern and provide feedback after the condition or situation is investigated.
The purpose of the Hotline is to help us ensure a safe work environment for our employees and the public. The caller should be prepared to give the following information: 1) name and contact phone number, if desired; 2) the division name and individuals involved, if known; 3) the city, state, or project where the unsafe condition or concern, has been observed; 4) the date and time of the observation; and 5) what type of unsafe condition or concern has been observed (i.e. who, what, when, where).
The Safety Hotline number is 888-676-SAFE. You may also contact us by email at safety@danella.com.
