This past Thursday, December 15, Danella employees had the opportunity to visit LaSalle Academy in North Philadelphia. With the help of generous donations from our supporters, vendors, and friends, our employees were able to hand out gifts to children in grades third through eighth in time for Christmas.
Danella employees were welcomed that morning by a short assembly in which third, fourth, and fifth graders performed songs and skits for Santa. During open prayer, it was evident that these children are grateful for their opportunity to attend LaSalle Academy and for Danella’s continued efforts to make their education a success.
Santa and the Danella “elves” then continued through the school to hand out gifts to each student. Children in all grades were given gym uniforms, either a sweater or sweatshirt with the LaSalle Academy insignia, and a stocking full of snacks. Third graders also received winter coats to help keep them warm this season, and hopefully next!
We would like to thank and acknowledge our supporters, vendors, and friends who help make this project a success every year. Without their help, these children, who do not ask for much, would be going home without these everyday necessities. In addition, donations are used throughout the year to help support LaSalle Academy students with school supplies, uniforms, paper products, and local supermarket gift cards—items that are needed to continue making these children’s education a positive and successful learning experience. Thank you also to the students of Central Montco Technical School who came out and helped prepare gifts for the LaSalle Academy students.
Jim Danella and all the Danella “elves” want to thank all who contributed once again for your continued support.
Stay tuned for photos from our second school, John H. Webster Elementary School, which our employees will be visiting this coming Thursday, December 22.
