Across the country, telecommunication companies are building their 5G networks – the fastest cellular network technology ever developed.

In Philadelphia, Scott Saylor is the foreman of a Danella team that is working on the 5G build. Danella recently received a testimonial from the contractor manager after their ambitious 5G goals were achieved:

Danella Team, on behalf of the Philadelphia Contract Services team, I would like to take a few moments to say thank you for the tremendous amount of work and effort you each contributed to the 5G build in 2019. I would be remiss without giving a special thank you to Scott Saylor, whose dedication to getting the job done is unmatched. Scott is not only an exceedingly hard worker, but his attention to detail is incredible. Thank you Scott and everyone on the Danella Team! Without the support of your team, we would not have been successful in achieving our 5G goals. I am extremely grateful for having the opportunity to work with each of you this year and am looking forward to more fun in 2020.

Scott credits his success to 3 keys: job planning, teamwork and good communication.

“When we get started, I make sure everyone knows what needs to be done and what their responsibilities are.” Scott says, “It takes a little extra time up front, but it’s worth it in the end.”

Scott wanted to make sure his team was recognized for all their hard work. He says, “This was a big job and I had a lot on my plate. Without their commitment and hard work, the job would have been a lot harder.”

“I especially want to recognize Mark Moskola.” Scott says, “He’s been with me for 20 years. With Mark I can work one end of the job and I know Mark can handle the other end. He takes control, does his job and I know it will be done right.”

As a team, we have the attitude that we’re going to do the job right, get it done and go home.”

“Chris Straubel is another supervisor who deserves to be recognized. He did great on this job.” Scott adds.

The work of the entire team is reflected in the results. “As a team, we have the attitude that we’re going to do the job right, get it done and go home.” Scott says, “That’s good for all of us. Danella gets a good reputation, and we get more work to do.”

Finally, Scott emphasizes the importance of good communication on the job. He says, “I don’t have to talk to the contractor manager every day, but I do. That’s just the way I work. Open communication is very important to me. So, I personally stay in touch with her so she knows what’s going on.”

Although Scott is concerned with many details in his job, he also sees the larger picture. “I represent Danella in everything I do.” He adds, “I want people to see the work we do and how we do it, and then send us more work. That way everybody wins.”
