Pull two spikes simultaneously from each side of the rail, for a total of four spikes at one time. Since claw fingers grasp spikes under the head while the workhead assembly pulls straight up, spikes stay straight and re-usable.
Adjustable Workheads: A-frame pulling assembly positioned over each rail. Simply adjust the limit switches to set the claw height for different rail heights. Quickly change the width of the claw opening at any time using a simple dial setting or use the automatic workhead centering option. Easily position inner and outer claws to align for differ-ent spike patterns. Workheads are secured with cab-controlled hydraulic locks.
Pulling Tools: Claw style pulling tools handle line spikes and anchor spikes. Pulling assembly accepts optional Lewis bolt and hairpin spike workheads. Easily accessed assembly allows for quick maintenance or adjustments (claws can be changed in the field in about one hour).
Rail-to-Rail Turntable: Use the integrated, positive locking turntable to easily reverse direction on the track.
Propulsion and Brakes: SP2R is built on a four-wheel, dual axle, chain driven propulsion system. Optimize safety with spring applied, hydraulic release brake system; fitted with Cobra brake shoes and a deadman switch.
