Let’s unite as Danella continues our everyday actions of highlighting the importance of safety for our employees and the public during Construction Safety Week from May 6 through May 10, 2024. Together, we can make a significant impact.
Construction Safety Week started in 2014 when 40 national and global construction firms from the Construction Industry Safety Initiative aimed to inspire the construction industry to be safety leaders. Ten years later, the week continues to strengthen the industry’s safety culture and performance, encouraging those to speak up and act on potential risks.
The goals of Construction Safety Week are to “Encourage, Listen, Empower,” and the themes of each day are different in hopes of driving home the deep responsibility of safety:
- Monday, May 6: Driving Personal Ownership
- Tuesday, May 7: Encourage and Welcome New Ideas
- Wednesday, May 8: Embracing Every Voice
- Thursday, May 9: Strengthen Our Culture
- Friday, May 10: Thank you for Using Your Voice
This week also aligns with OSHA’s National Safety Stand-down Week. On May 8, join Danella and other companies nationally for the largest stand-down event, which raises awareness of Fall Hazards. The stand-down will address how to prevent falls and provide training for all workers. Click here for more information.
The mentality of Construction Safety Week is not just for one week but every day. Danella continues to take “Pride in Everything We Do.” as we work with our employees, clients, and the general public to create safe working environments within the utility construction industry.
