As a continuation of our work, the Danella Christmas Project “elves,” on December 22, delivered gifts to over 400 students in grades Kindergarten through Second at, John H. Webster Elementary School in the Kensington section of Philadelphia, PA.

With the support of our vendors and friends, Danella employees and family members were able to help children at Webster have a merrier Christmas. Many of these students do not have much at home and the gifts given to them are precious memories that they will cherish. Not only did the children in Kindergarten and First Grade receive stockings filled with snacks, but also backpacks with reading and coloring materials, hats and gloves, and a stuffed bear.

The Danella “elves” and Santa visited each classroom, close to twenty rooms in total, and handed out presents. Santa handed each Kindergartener a board game, appropriate for their age and gender. First Graders who each wrote a “Letter to Santa” were given the gift that they requested, which ranged from baby dolls to remote control cars, and ever popular TV/movie characters like trolls and ninja turtles. The students’ faces, when they received the present they asked Santa for, was priceless. These gifts were donated by employees at Danella’s Corporate Headquarters in Plymouth Meeting, PA. The students in the Second Grade classrooms were given fun chapter reading books, like Goosebumps.

As an annual tradition going on its twelfth year, the Danella Christmas Project helps yearly close to 600 children and their families by providing gifts, educational items, food, and clothing. Our continued work would not be possible without the help of donations from our employees, supporters, friends, and vendors. But most importantly, it would not be possible without the leadership of the Danella Christmas Project committee. As a company, we would like to extend our thanks to Cheryl Guffey and Robin Bender, who head the committee, for their hard work this season.

Thank you again to all who financially contributed this holiday season. Your participation also helps us throughout the year providing school supplies, paper products, toiletries, snacks, and local supermarket gift cards—items that help to make these children’s education a more positive and successful learning experience.
