Today, Friday, February 3, 2017, is National Wear Red Day! In its 15th year, National Wear Red Day brings awareness to women about their cardiac risks. Statistics show that one woman every 80 seconds is killed due to cardiovascular disease, and 80% of these deaths are preventable.
To help bring awareness to not only women’s risk, but also men’s risk, Danella Employees were encouraged to wear red to support heart health awareness and educational material was distributed throughout the company. Below are some photos of our employees wearing red for the cause. Several of our divisions participated including our corporate headquarters in Plymouth Meeting, PA and our Ohio Division, J. Daniel and Company.
At Danella, we bring awareness to diseases and conditions that affect our employees and their loved ones throughout the year. In the month of February, we will focus on heart health because it is American Heart Month. Educational information has been distributed to employees on their risks and ways to prevent both Heart Attack and Cardiac Arrest. In addition, simple heart-healthy tips and recipes will be featured on both Danella’s Facebook and Twitter profiles weekly. Posts featured here at Danella.com/News will also focus on heart health, prevention, and how to react to heart failures.
Heart Disease is preventable and we hope that our small part in educating employees will help reduce the overwhelming statistics.
