Danella is always looking for ways to give back to the communities we serve. Through our Danella Cares program, we provide scholarship opportunities and partner with various organizations to help those in need. For the past eighteen years, Danella has focused our resources on brightening the spirits of children in our community during the holiday season. The Danella Christmas Project works with local schools to help ensure that every child has a gift to open on Christmas Day.

This year, the Danella Christmas Project is proud to be working with John H. Webster Elementary School, La Salle Academy, and Anne Frank Elementary School in Philadelphia. Thanks to the generosity of our donors and Danella employee volunteers, we are excited to announce that the Danella Christmas Project will support over 1,000 children this year!

Here’s How the Danella Christmas Project Works

We collect generous gift donations from our vendors and Danella employees to support this program. These donations include toys, clothing, backpacks, and smaller items that can be used as stocking stuffers. We want to thank everyone who donated items for your generosity and support. You make this program possible!

Danella’s employees volunteer their time, energy, and talents to organize the donations, label items, sort donated clothing, pack backpacks, coordinate how gifts will be distributed, and wrap presents. Employees spend a considerable amount of their own time working on the Danella Christmas Project. This includes their lunch hours, coming in early to work, staying after work hours, and even occasionally coming in on a Saturday or Sunday! We want to recognize these employees for their selflessness and dedication to this worthwhile program. Through their actions, they are demonstrating the Danella Cares philosophy of giving back to the communities we serve.

The 18 years of the Danella Christmas Project is just a small part of the overall Danella Cares program. Through this program, Danella has provided scholarships to Villanova University, Jefferson University’s Sidney Kimmel Medical College, and LaSalle College High School. Danella has supported students in LaSalle Academy and John H. Webster Elementary School to help break the cycle of poverty and give these students greater opportunities to learn and grow.

Over the years Danella has provided donations to many larger charities who are active in our community including The American Cancer Society, The Boys and Girls Club, Toys for Tots, Knights of Columbus, and the March of Dimes. Danella has also proudly supported a wide variety of local charitable causes including the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, Children’s Specialized Hospital, The Brad Fox Memorial 5K Foundation, Cradles to Crayons Philadelphia, and The Melbourne Arts Center. Danella’s commitment to all these causes starts with Jim Danella himself and runs through our entire organization. Through Danella Cares, we will do our part to make our communities stronger and brighter.
